Qeveria ka vendosur te reduktoje shërbimet ne QSUT dhe te ule numrin e shtretërve me te paktën 200 te tille. Drejtuesit e ministrisë se shëndetësisë mohojnë qe ky vendim te ketë ardhur si pasoje tkurrjes se buxhetit, por për te evituar shërbimet e fryra artificialisht për te kënaqur kërkesat e profesorëve. Sipas drejtorit te politikave ne ministri, nga 62 shërbime qe ka aktualisht QSUT numri mund te reduktohet deri ne 30 te tilla, duke shtuar klinikat ambulatore. QSUT ka aktualisht 1400 shtretër, por shfrytëzimi i tyre shkon nga 75-80%. Sipas drejtuesve te shëndetësisë reduktimet e shpenzimeve pas këtij vendimi do te shkojnë ne shërbim te blerjes se aparaturave te reja për te përballuar fluksin ditor te vizitave.
