Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced in his National Day 2026 address on Sunday (Aug 30) that the government has agreed to restore the basic monthly Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) eligibility limit from 200 to 300 litres, benefiting more than 16 million eligible users.
Meanwhile, the Budi Diesel subsidy limit for more than 500,000 eligible diesel vehicle owners will increase from 300 to 400 litres a month.
Anwar said the adjustments aim to ease Malaysians’ financial burden while ensuring targeted subsidies reach those who qualify.
