Malaysia will deploy the Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) to Nepal this week following devastating floods.
The National Security Council and the National Disaster Management Agency, in collaboration with the Foreign Affairs Ministry, have been tasked with coordinating directly with the Nepalese government to ensure the swift deployment of the rescue team.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said there are still 91 Malaysians missing or uncontactable in the affected areas in Nepal and China.
