Dozens of guests were left stranded 50 feet in the air for over three hours after a roller coaster malfunctioned in England. On Monday, Aug. 31, 27 riders aboard the Wipeout roller coaster at Pleasurewood Hills amusement park in Lowestoft became stuck while on the attraction. According to a Suffolk County Council press release, the ride vehicles stopped on the tracks about 15 meters (50 feet) in the air, but not upside down. Authorities were first alerted to the incident around 1:26 p.m. local time.
